I believe this chef has captured the essence of chow mein - Himalayan style. We stayed in Gaia two nights in a row and we ordered the Pork Chow Mein both nights. I added a dash of soy sauce and some Piri Piri sauce... not because it needed it but rather because I like my food spicy.
Having pursued the chinese cooking style of my favourite chef [Fat Mama from Calcutta - God rest her soul] for more than 30 years, however, I can say that the pork in the Chow Mein was too hard and dry because it was over-cooked - a cardinal sin in chinese cooking.
Still ... I would go back every week for this if we lived here. The chicken fried rice is also very good - but, again, the meat was very dry... which is easily avoidable and remedied ... if he wants to do so.
I asked the chef if we could add shrimp to the pork chow mein and received a blunt ,'No.' I would have paid, and I know from experience that it is easy to do. 🙅♂️

Every time we asked for a drink refill or decided to add more food last minute, the staff handled it quickly and with a smile. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Wow, I found this super cool Asian food spot in Gaia that I didn't know about before! It's hidden away, but trust me, the food is amazing!
As soon as I walked in, I could smell all the great food cooking. The place looks nice too - a cool mix of modern and traditional Asian styles.
The menu is full of different dishes from all over Asia - from India to Thailand and beyond. Everything I tried was so tasty and felt really authentic.
I had Thukpa and Dumplings, and it was just like what I'd tried in North-East India. The dumplings were perfect, and the Thukpa (which is a kind of noodle soup) was super comforting and full of flavor.
I also tried the Nasi Goreng. They served it with prawn crisps on top, and it was so good! It reminded me of the time I spent in Malaysia.
But there's more than just that. They've got Indian and Thai dishes too. From hot Indian curries to Thai Pad Thai, there's something for everyone.
The people working there were really nice. They were happy to chat about the dishes and seemed to really care about making sure everyone enjoyed their meal.
All in all, if you like Asian food, you've got to try this place. It doesn't matter if you're a big foodie or just like trying new things, you're gonna love it. Can't wait to go back!- Serviço

I had a delightful dinner at Restaurante Asiático Gaia, a cozy spot tucked away from the tourist path. From the moment I walked in, the soft ambient lighting, bamboo accents, and compact wooden tables created a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
I began with a steaming bowl of miso soup and a plate of assorted sushi—fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and clean, elegant presentation. For my main, I ordered the spicy Thai green curry with chicken, served alongside fragrant jasmine rice. The curry had a warming, creamy coconut base with just the right heat and notes of fresh basil and lime.
I also tried their gyoza dumplings, pan-fried until golden and filled with juicy pork and crisp vegetables—the perfect savory bite. To finish, I savored a mango sticky rice dessert: sweet coconut rice paired beautifully with ripe mango.
The staff were attentive without hovering, explaining the dishes and asking about spice levels. Even when the place filled up, service remained smooth and relaxed. Background soft music added to the peaceful vibe.
If you're in Gaia and craving quality Asian cuisine in a simple, friendly setting, Restaurante Asiático Gaia is a great find. The food felt authentic, portions generous, and the evening entirely satisfying. I’ll certainly return to explore more dishes.- Serviço

We went here, because it had good google reviews and looked cosy. And boy did the place deliver. Such friendly staff, great atmosphere and so tasty food. The place is really cosy and tiny, which makes it lovely to sit. There is lots of nice Nepalese trinkets all over the place. The food feels authentic and tastes so good. If you are close by and love Asian or Nepalese Food, go check them out. Full recommendation.

Delicious thukpa, momos and chow mein. The place is humble but the food really really good. Also, the owners are lovely people. We definitely recommend to come and try.

We've just been in. Long day of traveling and we wanted something close to the hotel. What a little gem of a place. Chicken chow main was lovely and the chicken fried rice was perfect will be going again before we leave

Good food, great and friendly cuple who run the restaurant. Worth of visit, multiple times! Look at the paintings on the walls, it’s their painting, amazing work ❤️ The best place to eat in Porto, we loved it.

One of the best Asian restaurants outside Asia. Amazing taste. Everything prepared in the moment. Chow Mein vegetarian one of my preferred ones. Vegetable Momo (dumplings) are wonderful! Highly recommend. Humble place. Warm service. The oner himself and his wife host you and provide a one of a kind experience. Must try it!

I loved the shrimp fried rice and the potato samosas. If you are looking for some good fried rice and appetizers in Gaia pay them a visit. The owners(I assume that’s who hosted us) were very friendly.
